The Smartronix Rugged USB Hub is designed to meet a full range of environmental requirements for mobile and deployed systems. It has been tested to MIL-STD-810F for shock, vibration, temperature, sand and dust. The Rugged USB Hub has also been tested to MIL-STD-461E for conducted and radiated emissions and susceptibility.

The Rugged Hub exceeds MIL-STD-810F standards developed by the Department of Defense. It is designed for in-vehicle use (mobile vehicle environments where harsh shock, vibration, temperature, sand/dust and electromagnetic interference exist.
The Hub has shock resistant, self-extinguishing environmentally sealed USB, Serial and Power ports providing a full 480M bps data rate to the host and is backward compatible with USB 1.1 and 1.0 devices. It includes a convenient AC adapter that supplies a full 500mA to each attached USB peripheral. The Rugged Hub design can be mounted in tight spaces, i.e., small cabins, dashboards or difficult out of the way warehouse or manufacturing spaces.
The Rugged Hub makes it easy to add peripherals such as GPS, scanners, card readers, and printers.
